Mike has distinguished himself as an expert manager of the design and construction of complex, multi-million-dollar renovation and adaptive reuse projects – many involving transformation and preservation of historic buildings for higher education clients. Mike values collaborating with clients to translate their ideas and expectations into viable and inspiring projects.
He joined the firm in 2005 and became a Partner in 2016. Mike has led many historic renovation projects as both Partner in Charge and Project Manager, including Welch Hall at The Rockefeller University, the Humanities Building at SUNY Purchase College, New York University’s Advanced Research Institutes, various renovations within the American Museum of Natural History, renovation of several pavilions at Yale University Sterling Divinity School, the reprogramming and renovation of the Juliana Terrian Curran Design Center for the School of Design at Pratt Institute, and the renovation of Pratt Institute’s Manhattan Center.
Mike has lectured at the AIA National Convention and the Center for Architecture in New York on the adaptive reuse of historic academic buildings, and at the National Science Teaching Association Convention about design practices when creating STEM/STEAM spaces. He serves on the Board of Directors of the South Orange Village Center Alliance, a Business Improvement District (BID) in South Orange, New Jersey which advises on development initiatives and focuses on town-gown relationships with Seton Hall University.
Mike received a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art from the College of William and Mary and a Master of Architecture from North Carolina State University. He is a LEED accredited professional and licensed architect in New York, New Jersey, Virginia and Massachusetts.
