An experienced architect and manager, K.C. has embraced collaborative practice models and has led teams to successfully complete over 4 million square feet of educational projects. His expertise encompasses all educational levels, challenging renovation projects and new construction, including a Net Zero middle school and numerous LEED Certified projects.
K.C. joined KHA in 2018 and became an Associate in 2019. He is responsible for coordinating the firm’s project planning and staffing, as well as being a technical resource for the staff. He led the documentation efforts for the Orange New Jersey High School renovation and addition, the Pforzheimer Hall renovation at the Horace Mann School, the Bruno M. Ponterio Ridge Street School addition and renovation and Blind Brook-Rye High School addition.
His previous experience includes complex reconstruction and renovation projects for academic, science, and campus life buildings, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, North Carolina State University, Duke University, the University of Rochester, USMA West Point, and Colgate University. These projects include construction in occupied buildings, major HVAC and electrical system replacements, and science labs for both teaching and research.
K.C. has served as President of AIA North Carolina Eastern Section, on the Board of Directors of AIA North Carolina, and on the Historic District Commission of the Town of Southern Pines, North Carolina. His teaching experience includes advanced building systems, architectural history, and professional practice.
He received a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Virginia, with a minor in Architectural History, and a Master of Architecture from Syracuse University. He is a LEED Accredited Professional, a Recognized Educational Facility Planner of the Association for Learning Environments, and a licensed architect in New York, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
